The movie always gets in my head when I get excited about the mail. After some not so subtle hints to my boyfriend, I received my Poe V-day package today! He's bad at keeping secrets or presents so he just gave it to me. I love all of it so much. Silly question though, did this stuff actually get sent out by Poe? I don't read message boards a lot so I didn't know...but if you did, i'm going to keep that 'Happy Valentines Day' note forever. And if someone else does it, it was still an excellent touch.

Today I discovered Political Compass, a really interesting website that explores the dimensions of politics and allows you to determine where you fall in the political spectrum. It was quite interesting to learn much of what is included with the results. For instance, I was not aware that Gandhi was quite a racist, or that Ayn Rand was homophobic. Also, the American presidential candidates are all in the authoritarian right of the political spectrum, with Bush being the most so, with the noted exception of Al Sharpton and Dennis Kucinich. I must say that I really enjoyed William Hung when he was on American Idol, and I think he has a lot more class and style than most of the people on there. He doesn't sound that bad with backing music either. Since he didn't make the cut on that less-than-reputable show, there's no reason to watch it, but perhaps he can turn all the attention he's received into something more meaningful. January 30th - End of March Cafe Einstein in Berlin exhibits Sam Shaw's unseen, archived photos of Marilyn Monroe during her "happier" years (1954-1957). Beautiful photos on the beach, more of the famous white dress shots he's famous for (7 Year Itch). He even introduced Marilyn to Arthur Miller.
