When did you start to listen to Poe?

Featured Replies

I first started listening to Poe in late 2012 (late I know). I'd recieved House of Leaves for my 17th birthday, and upon scouring the internet I found that there was an album by the authors sister that added a lot to the reading experience...I think you get the picture ;P

1995, when MTV still played music at all, especially good music like her's.  Two CDs in as many decades...what a loss for us all.  Poe was ahead of her time, and is still the most relevant and indescribably fantastic artist.

I too was a late addition.  Sometime around 2002, I heard Poe on Radio Paradise.com.  Since then I've been hooked.  Haunted is an absolute work of art.  You should always try to take the time for a complete listen, beginning to end, for the full effect.  The introduction to Poe also got me to read her brother's book, "House of Leaves," which is another amazing experience.

I started listening back when the 'Hello' album was receiving airplay on the radio.  Bought the CD and pretty much wore it out.  I was always mesmerized by that sweet velvety voice.  Musically, things made 'sense', so it was easy to follow the rhythms.  As time went by, I got caught up with marriage, divorce, marriage again, moved from Arizona to Denmark, jobs and unemployment and kinda sorta lost track.  Stumbled upon 'Haunted' a couple of years ago and fell in love all over again.  Thanks for the music and I'm greatful for whatever I stumble upon.  Give yourself a hug -
