February 24, 201214 yr Category: ANGRY PSYCHOSFor me it was in 2003. I was buying the new Delerium CD and the cashier at HMV told me about Conjure One which featured one of the guys from Delerium. On my next trip to HMV I picked up the Conjure One CD. My favourite songs were instantly Center of the Sun and Make a Wish. I read the CD sleeve that they were sung by Poe. I looked up Poe online and found that she had two CD's. I bought Hello as soon as I could and immediately loved it and bought Haunted shortly after which I also loved. Poe became my favourite singer. I was glad when she sang three songs on the second Conjure One CD. Looking forward to new Poe.
February 27, 201214 yr I am 14 years of age. If you did not hear already, I dislike my age group that buys the latest song off of iTunes, and then that song gets old, thus they buy another wasting their money. I do not move with the times. I stay put. I first listened to Poe with Center (American spelling) of the Sun (Solarstone's Chilled Out Remix.) It was in 2011 (yeah, a little late, wasn't I??) I was relaxed. I eventually stumbled upon the original version and the Conjure One album. After purchasing all three albums from Conjure One (they were awesome), I eventually began looking into Poe. What gives her the charm is her ability to go deep down into the tenor tone, but then she can go back up to high alto----it's amazing. Anyway, I bought both of her albums. I'm addicted. But I also found out the reason she vanished for over 10 years was from record company battles. That stinks. I hope she can release something, because I'm ready for something new. FAVORITE SONGS (INCLUDING CONJURE ONE): Haunted Center of the Sun Wild Endless Dream Control Walk the Walk Hello Angry Johnny Lemon Meringue
March 4, 201214 yr when the Hello album first came out i believe that was 1995 my fav album to this day..
March 4, 201214 yr When Hello came out in 1995. The title track was played a fair bit on the radio around where I live. I loved it to pieces and looked forward to when her next album came out. Haunted just easily solidified that Anne will always be one of my favorite artists and said album is honestly an all-time favorite for me. Very much looking forward to whatever she has in store for us. I checked up on Conjure One after finding out she did some work with them and she's still in such wonderful form. ♥
March 5, 201214 yr I was about 19 yrs old, and I am 35 now. ( so... 1996-97) I love POE, her voice is soon sexy! :)

March 21, 201214 yr I was about 3 or 4 when i started listening to PoE. I fell in love with her music and I'm never without it.
March 27, 201214 yr Oh my god, I couldn't believe that ,you must be the musician now , how old are you?
March 31, 201214 yr My father was a huge fan. He played her music often on our random road trips. I've been listening to her since I was ten years old.
May 8, 201214 yr For me it was back in 1995 ... back when it was still "cool" to sign up for the Columbia House deals ... you know the one, where you buy like 3 albums at "regular club prices" and you get like 12 for a penny or something ... anyway, I had never heard of POE at the time and I was looking for something different and mellow - CH had a good description of her album, so I went for it ... best random CD pick ever!!! I can't tell you how many times I've listened to "Hello" and "Haunted" and even the CD I have of Misc. songs that I had to put together since I'm "jonsin'" for new stuff! Hurry up P+E!! :)
May 21, 201214 yr I first heard "Hello", maybe at the end of a TV show, so I looked her up and bought both albums the same day from Amazon. This was after Haunted was out, so probably in 2000/2001. I'm patiently waiting for the next one.
November 17, 201213 yr I think I'm her newest fan. I first listened to Poe at the end of 2011. The first song I heard was Haunted and I immediately fell in love with it! After a while I did some research to find out who the singer was, and when I did I bought her both albums on Amazon. That's when I joined this website as well.
December 9, 201213 yr I saw Poe open for Depeche Mode. One of those shows where the opener blows the main act away, in front of several thousand people. 2000 or so? Bought Haunted on the way home, listened on endless repeat. Saw her again shortly afterward at the Aladdin Theater in Portland, just a cozy thousand of us. Best freakin' show ever. I'm 52, so I'm the old dude in this house. I'll be the greybeard down front at the next Poe show. Don't you mess with me :)
January 5, 201313 yr In middle school... when I heard Angry Johnny on the radio. 1995? I remember turning it down at the parts after she says "i wanna..." i figured my dad would get mad! So i saved up my allowance & bought Hello & me & my friends fell in love. Been listening to all my favorite 90s music on spotify.. been on a Poe kick, relistening to Haunted after a good 10 years, after my ex, stole it when we split, now baby daddy father whos like a black hole that sucks out the light... well i realized that whole album was like written for me... everything ive been through with him last 10 years... a-maze-d. (Even down to us living 5-1/2min walk down a long hallway from each other at the end when i was pregnant in chi;town!) Ya freaky stuff. Love it!! So glad to hear shes back, what a talent to waste..... stupid record company bullsh*t. Lotsa love to Poe & fellow fans! Sorry took me so long xoxoxo <3
January 27, 201313 yr Oy-vey! '96 I think??? Hello... It was an incredible cd... It was fun, cute... When Haunted came out, I was honestly blown away (sorry angry Johnny)... Anne, you came into your own! I want MORE of your work!!!! I've lost count how many times I've bought Haunted... Maybe 6-8 times... I just bought it AGAIN off iTunes. I truly can not say what my favorite song is...
January 28, 201313 yr Hi! I know it's been a long time since you wrote your message about Poe on the Realpoe.com site. I just wanted to give you an over due welcome. Poe will be doing some interesting projects in the new year. Hopefully one day soon she'll tour in China! If she does, write to us and we'll make sure you have free tickets and back stage passes. We just love that you bring Poe to life in China! Peace and Happy 2013 Trigger
February 20, 201313 yr I first listened to Poe around '95 or '96 when her music video "Hello" was heavy rotation. After hearing it I was interested in it but being as young as I was (maybe age 5 or 6) I was oblivious to most music that was out at the time and forgot about it for a few years. After watching Blair Witch 2 (and I was also late to learn about the Haunted album) I heard the title song in the rolling credits and I thought "Why does that sound familiar?" (The Vocal style.) So one day, when I wasn't feeling too lazy I researched on Alternative music in the '90s, I happened to come across alot of these great bands and musicians and I came across Poe and since then (maybe from 2003) I've been a real fan.
February 28, 201313 yr 1995. When I first saw her on MTV. Got the album inmediately, especially shipped from the US, It felt like christmas...
March 3, 201313 yr I began in 1998 in Iraq after hearing "Control" in an old videogame, instantly hooked! sadly didn't have access to new content until much later..
March 5, 201313 yr probably since back in 2005 (late to the party, hey heyyy) when i was about eighteen or so. i saw a fan video someone had made for a cartoon set to "hey pretty" and it was love from then on out. i really only listened to a handful of songs back then, but within the last year, i've been listening to hello and haunted from beginning to end. interspersed in there was also a few readings of "house of leaves", of course. nobody else's music has ever spoken to me on a level such as poe, to be honest. haunted has proved to be a soundtrack to my life this past monumental year, and each song has such a deep meaning to me as i know it has to her. i'm absolutely dying to see her live... i don't think i've ever wanted to see anyone in concert more than her. if there's any chance of her heading to san francisco for a show soon, i absolutely must know, and you bet i'll be one of the first in line to see queen poe perform. fave songs? from hello: hello (band version...gah so good), fingertips, angry johnny, beautiful girl... from haunted: wild, haunted, hey pretty, terrible thought, spanish doll... heck, the whole album breaks my heart in the best way possible!!
April 9, 201313 yr Way back in the early 90s. It was late, well real late, and I was flipping between MTV and MTV2 and then all of a sudden the Hello video showed itself. I could not take my eyes off nor could my fingers flip the channel. I was hooked. A couple of days later, I purchased the Hello album and from that point on I was hooked. I saw her for the first time in person at the EdgeFest X Pre-Party at the Gypsy Tea Room. I had won passes earlier that day. Not only did I get to meet Poe. I also got to take many pictures and also got her brother's John Hancock on my copy of House of Leaves. A week to two weeks later, I also drove all the way to Cleveland, OH to see her perform at the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. I drove from Dallas to Cleveland to see this amazing creature perform. I am an Angry Psycho.
